Sample Itinerary
The majority of Nile Cruises start at Luxor on a Monday. On the way to Aswan some 80 miles to the south, they stop at various places allowing time to explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt. You are advised to check the exact itinerary for your cruise but in general 7 night Nile Cruise itinerary for Luxor-Aswan-Luxor will be as follows:
Monday: Arrive in Luxor and transfer to your cruise boat where you will check in.
Tuesday: The morning will be spent visiting the Luxor Museum and in the afternoon, head of to the East Bank to visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.
Wednesday: In the morning visit the West Bank which includes Necropolis of Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, the cruise will sail to Edfu via the Esna Lock.
Thursday: Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu in the morning before sailing down to Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris before sailing on to Aswan.
Friday: After breakfast explore Aswan incliding the Aswan High Dam and Temple of Philae. In the afternoon, take a relaxing trip on a felucca sailing past Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum.
Saturday: Morning at leisure in Aswan with the option of a visit to the Temple of Abu Simbel at the far end of Lake Nasser. Sail from Aswan to Edfu.
Sunday: Morning sailing from Edfu to Esna. Explore the Temple of Khnum at Esna before heading on to Luxor.
Monday: Disembark after breakfast and transfer back to Luxor airport.
