Travel Essentials

Airport Parking and Hotels

Many of the flights to Egypt depart between 9-11am from the various airports in the UK. When you consider that you have to check in at least 2 hours before departure, this means the first day of your holiday is a very early start unless you are fortunate enough to live close to the airport.

The best option is to travel down the night before and stay in a hotel close to the airport. Most of the UK airports offer a good range of hotels to suit all budgets from 2 star to 5 star properties both on and near the airports. Staying the night before also gives you the peace of mind knowing you aren’t going to miss your flight because of a traffic jam on the motor.

Many of the hotels also offer a combined hotel room / car parking price so everything is taken care of with a single booking. Booking in advance not only gives you peace of mind but great savings too. If you don’t want to stay at a hotel the night before, pre-booking your car parking is definitely recommended.  The cheapest options are usually in the long-stay car parks but for convenience, you can’t beat the “Meet and Great” service. You are met at the airport terminal by a car park representative who will complete some paperwork before taking your car away and parking it for you. On your return, you simply give them a call once you’ve cleared customers and your car will be returned to the terminal. No waiting for a car park bus or de-icing your car, simply jump in and you are on your way home.

Airport Lounge

Once you’ve checked in and made it through the security checks, a great way to relax before your flight is in one of the airport lounges. These VIP passes can be prebooked for most UK airports. Inside the lounges, you’ll find comfortable seating, newspapers and complimentary drinks and snacks.

For more frequent travellers, a cheaper option is a Priority Pass card. This not only gives you access to lounges in the UK but in hundreds of airports all over the world regardless of which airline you are flying with. For the frequent traveller, a Priority Pass is not a luxury, its a necessity.

Airport Transfers in Egypt and Israel

On arrival and once you’ve clear customs, you need to get to your hotel or cruise boat. Some holidays include airport transfers in the price which is normally on a bus stopping off at various hotels before finally reaching yours. However, it is possible to pre-book your own private transfers no matter which airport you are flying in to or out of.
