At the heart of Detroit’s Eastern Market is a historic two-story distillery that combines an upscale event space with an artisanal distilled spirits producer. Detroit City Distillery creates small batch artisanal whiskies, gins and vodkas with local ingredients sourced directly from the farms near the distillery. The 5,000 square foot historical event space is lined with whiskey barrels, immersing guests in the spirit of heritage.

The space features a high-end menu crafted with Detroit Spirits, including Valentine Vodka named the World’s Best Vodka in 2016. Other pours include Motor City Gas, the distillery’s popular single-barrel bourbon, and Grass Widow Bourbon, which is only available in the state.

The distillery and bar are outfitted in dark wood tones and brass, with low lighting and a modern feel. The bar is decorated with jungle-themed elements, from the flora hanging from the ceiling to the tiny elephants perched on your cocktail glass. The flora and fauna are even reflected in the drinks, like Topsy’s Revenge, a fruity bourbon-based drink served in a literal elephant-shaped glass, or Weiss-A-Rita, a moonshine-based margarita with lime juice, agave nectar and a pinch of chili salt on the rim.
