Benefits of Clear Aligners

Unlike traditional metal braces, clear aligners are virtually undetectable when worn. They’re also much more convenient than fixed orthodontic appliances, allowing patients to go about their daily lives without worrying about how they look or what they can or cannot eat.

While they do not eliminate the need for monthly adjustments, clear aligners typically require less time to reach their final results – with many of our patients achieving their desired smile within nine to 15 months! In comparison, traditional braces may take up to two years to straighten the teeth and fix gaps.

What Are Clear Aligners and Are They Right for You

Another benefit of clear aligners is their ability to be removed for eating, drinking and brushing. This makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene throughout treatment, reducing the risk of tooth decay, gum disease and other dental issues that may arise if proper oral care is not followed.

Clear aligners are easy to remove for mealtimes, but they should be worn at least 22 hours a day in order to achieve the best outcomes. This means that they are not suitable for everyone, and those with significant gaps between their teeth may need to have other orthodontic treatments to close them before considering clear aligners.

With clear aligners, patients can enjoy the freedom to eat and drink what they want (though we recommend avoiding sticky or crunchy foods). They can also smile confidently knowing that the gap between their teeth will gradually diminish. Having a more even, narrow smile can help boost the appearance of the smile and can reduce the risk of food impaction and tooth decay.
