Olympic Deck Wood Stain
The Olympic deck is not the best wood stain in the market but it does work well and will last a while. It is a good alternative to other expensive oil-based wood stains. It is easy to apply with a brush, roller or sprayer. It does not clog easily and spreads very evenly with no puddling or overlapping. It provides a nice subtle color while still allowing the natural texture of the wood grain to show through.
Olympic Deck: Excellence in Deck Construction and Design
If you do use this product be sure to thoroughly clean with the premium deck cleaner before staining. The premium deck cleaner has 4 times the cleaning power of water alone so it will get rid of dirt and mildew stains quickly and without much scrubbing. Be sure to neutralize/brighten after rinsing with a weak acid such as oxalic or citric, but NOT bleach. Bleach will just change the color of the greyed fibers and not remove them. Also, be sure to add a mildewcide. This will help prevent any mold from forming under the stain. It is recommended to reapply every 12-18 months depending on weather conditions.
