What is a Wet Pour Play Surface?

A wet pour play surface is made of a mixture of rubber EPDM granules and polyurethane binder which are mixed on-site and then ‘poured’ onto the ground. It is a popular safety surface because it offers excellent impact absorption and can be installed to various depths depending on the specific play equipment in the area (to meet critical fall height specifications).

The material is highly durable, hardwearing and requires little maintenance to keep it looking good. It can withstand heavy use, harsh weather conditions and UV exposure. It also comes in a wide range of colours and, if desired, can incorporate designs to create a unique surface that is visually appealing and complements the playground’s theme.

Transforming Your Playground with Wet Pour: A Dive into Design and Durability

This surfacing is suitable for all ages, from babies to older children, as it has been tested to ensure it meets strict European safety standards. It is also designed to be porous and allows water to pass through it easily – so it can be used all year round and won’t degrade in wet weather.

The granules are recycled, meaning it is environmentally friendly and helps to reduce landfill waste. It can also be installed on a range of base materials including porous asphalt and dynamic bases (e.g. Mot type 1 stone) which offer great drainage and distribute the load evenly over a larger surface area.

Wet pour surfacing is highly durable and can be used in a range of other applications such as outdoor gyms, multi-use games areas, seating areas, pathways, domestic gardens and more. It is also suitable for use in schools, daycare centers and recreational facilities.
